Can kids do yoga? Yes they can!
Kids can start doing yoga as soon as they are able to understand basic instructions. Classes are usually around 30-45 minutes containing fun and educational yoga practice that have many benefits for children.
Yoga will help them to improve motor skills, body awareness and mindfulness as well as strength and felxibility. Being aware of their body and thoughts promotes children´s self-regulation; helps manage anxiety and boosts self-esteem.
Yoga also enhances children´s concentration and memory, and helps them build important life skills.

About Mahta Collings:
I first started to practice yoga about 15 years ago when I was a university student. However, it wasn’t until a few years back when I was going through a traumatic experience that I truly started to realise the benefits and impact my yoga practice had on my healing journey and return to the self. Since then I’ve been on a mission to train and gain knowledge within yoga and offer it to others to hopefully gain the same benefits. I’m so honoured to be able to offer something I’m deeply passionate about and genuinely believe in. My vision for the near future is to create a community of facilitator, parents, educators and youth that is striving for a more embodied self and therefore a more embodied world.
Besides being a yoga teacher for kids, teens and adults, I also have additional training and knowledge within nervous system regulation, social- emotional learning, and currently training in somatics, embodiment and authentic flow. I also have a MSc in Child studies and several years of experience working with youth within teaching environments.
I’m currently offering educational yoga classes for children and teens with more classes to come soon.
